Founded in 1914 as Puerto Rico Telephone Company. The company was the primary telecommunications provider in Puerto Rico, operating fixed-line telephone services. In 2007, América Móvil rebranded its wireless and fixed services in Puerto Rico under the "Claro" brand, effectively ending the Puerto Rico Telephone name (Source).
