Claro Chile is an ISP and Network Operator that builds and owns its own HFC cable, FTTH, and legacy copper DSL infrastructure while selling fixed broadband, mobile, telephony, pay-TV, and IT services directly to residential and business consumers nationwide. Founded in 1998 as Chilesat PCS with Chile's fourth mobile license, acquired by América Móvil in 2005 and rebranded to Claro in 2006, merged with VTR in 2022 to form VTRClaro JV (50/50 ownership) combining HFC and FTTH assets for expanded coverage, invested over $500M in 2007-2008 for nationwide 3G rollout, and launched 5G in 2021 with ongoing FTTH expansions targeting multi-gigabit speeds (Source), (Source), (Source), (Source).
