Comteco is an ISP and Network Operator that builds and owns its own FTTH and legacy copper DSL infrastructure while selling fixed broadband, telephony, and pay-TV services directly to residential and business consumers in Cochabamba and surrounding areas. Founded in 1954 as a telecommunications cooperative in Cochabamba, with major milestones including 1999 joint venture with Western Wireless to form Nuevatel PCS (now Viva Bolivia, where Comteco holds 28.5% stake), 2016 L-Root server installation for enhanced DNS resiliency, and ongoing FTTH expansions supporting up to 500 Mbps symmetric speeds (Source), (Source), (Source), (Source).
