Consolidated Communications is both an ISP and Network Operator, selling high-speed internet, voice, TV, home security to residential customers and owning a large fiber network (~60,000 fiber route miles as of latest SEC filing). In 2017, acquired FairPoint Communications, adding ~22,000 fiber route miles. In late 2024, FCC approved its sale to private equity (Searchlight Capital + B.C. Investment).
