Kyivstar (PJSC Kyivstar) is an ISP and Network Operator that owns and operates fixed broadband infrastructure including FTTB and GPON-based full-fibre networks while selling high-speed home internet (up to 1 Gb/s), fixed telephony, and TV bundles directly to residential and business consumers across Ukraine since its founding in 1994 as Bridge by Ukrainian entrepreneur Ihor Lytovchenko with the first mobile call on December 9, 1997, with major milestones including launch of DSL broadband in 2003, fiber services in 2010, majority acquisition by VEON in 2009, nationwide 4G rollout by 2021, $1 billion investment commitment in 2023 for 5G/cloud expansion, December 2023 cyberattack recovery costing $100 million, Starlink direct-to-cell partnership in December 2024 for satellite messaging by end-2025 and broadband in 2026, and Nasdaq listing in August 2025 as the first U.S.-listed Ukrainian company under ticker KYIV with VEON retaining 87% ownership (Source), (Source).
