About

ISP only – retail Internet Service Provider, not known as a network-infrastructure owner. Founded in November 1995 as NetDirect Internet Ltd (Source). In early 2003, after the collapse of its former parent and reorganization, the company was renamed to NDO (Source). Offered broadband services such as ADSL and SDSL to its customers, relying on underlying wholesale access from larger network operators rather than owning its own network infrastructure (Source). Offered symmetric DSL (SDSL) broadband services to businesses – a fairly early example in the UK of business-oriented symmetric DSL (Source). In June 2005 NDO was acquired by Namesco; after the acquisition, the NDO brand was retained for a time but all original NDO connectivity/hosting infrastructure and services were retired, effectively ending NDO's existence as an independent ISP (Source) (Source).
